This week The Lower Wensleydale Business Network facilitated some GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) training at The Jonas Centre in Redmire. York University had secured European funding to deliver the course through Advent IM Limited.Mike Gillespie, MD and Co-founder of Advent was the trainer for the day which was attended by 14 delegates, made up of four local businesses and 4 local charities.

Simon Eastwood, Director of The Jonas Centre and Vice Chair of the Business Network, said

There is so much conflicting information surrounding the introduction of GDPR, it was great that local organisations and businesses could benefit from training locally rather than the norm of travelling to York or Leeds. The day has certainly helped me prepare our charity for the introduction of GDPR in May.

For those that were not able to attend the course, the business network has linked up with Redkite Innovations who have developed an online GDPR course. Businesses can access the course for a modest fee of £14.99 by visiting the following website.
