The Lower Wensleydale Business Network to host open meeting to discuss Business Rates

Published 9th May 2018 under Business News  &   Local News  &   Members News

The Lower Wensleydale Business Network has responded to the demand from local businesses for more clarity on business rates by arranging and hosting an open meeting. Business owners believe that the imposition of the new business rates is placing an unacceptable burden on their businesses and the future of trade in the area and particularly in Leyburn. They point to the apparent unfairness of the rates and the difficulties in being able to challenge the basis on which the rates have been set.

Paul Burkinshaw, a Partner of Harrowells Solicitors who are based in York and have considerable expertise in areas of business rates, will address the open meeting and will be on hand to take questions and discuss issues that arise.

The meeting which is being held at the Leyburn Arts and Community Centre on the 15th of May 2018 will start at 6.30 for 7.00 and will be chaired by Richard Sanderson.

The meeting is completely free of charge and all members and non-members of the Lower Wensleydale Business Network are invited to attend.
