Yet another rise in postal charges

The Post Office has announced yet another price increasing to its letter and parcel postal rates as from the 27th of March 2017

As from that date the following postal rates will apply:

Letters

  • Standard size second class will increase by 1p from 55p to 56p
  • Standard size first class will increase by 1p 64p to 65p
  • Larger size second class will increase by 1p from 75p to 76p
  • Larger size first class will increase by 2p from 96p to 98p
  • Various increases apply to larger letters

Parcels

  • Small second class will increase by 5p from £2.85 to £2.90
  • Small first class will increase by 5p from £3.35 to £3.40
  • Various increases apply to larger parcels

Members should note that businesses that dispatch more than 20 parcels per week can get preferential rates from the Post Office via their Business Parcel Service and that a number of alternative postal services are available with competitive rates.
